Gulgule (Sweet fritters)
- Gulgule: Gulgule is a traditional recipe of India which is made with an ingredients easily available at our home.
Ingredients:
- Water 1/2 cup,
- jaggery 1/2 cup,
- wheat flour 1 cup,
- Semolina 2 teaspoons,
- Dry ginger powder 1 teaspoon,
- Salt 1/2 teaspoon,
- Grated coconut 1/4 cup,
- Nutmeg powder 1/4 teaspoon,
- Cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon,
- Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon,
- Refined oil or pure ghee for frying.
- Procedure:
- Add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup finely chopped jaggery in a large bowl.
- Add dry ginger powder, salt and grated coconut and mix well.
- Add wheat flour and semolina.
- Keep aside the mixture for four hours.
- After four hours add nutmeg powder, cardamom powder, baking soda.
- mix well.
- Keep frying pan on medium flame.
- Add ghee or refined oil.
- Pour 10 gulgule in a hot oil or ghee.
- Deep fry on medium flame on golden brown colour.
- Sweet gulgule are ready to serve.
