Raw mango panha: healthy juice


  • Raw mango panha:

     
  •  During summer  mango added to konkani food in different ways. This is one of the traditional colddrink made during summer!
  • Ingredients: 
  • 4 raw mangoes, 
  • sugar 1/2 cup, 
  • jaggery 1/2 cup, 
  • green chilly 1, 
  • cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon, 
  • salt 2 tea spoons, 
  • water
  • Procedure: 
  • Wash all raw mangoes. Take water in a sauce pan.
  •  Add washed mangoes and cook for 15 minutes You can cook in a pressure cooker.
  • Remove from the water and let them cool.
  • Peel outer skin of boiled mangoes and remove pulp. 
  • I got 1 cup pulp.
  •  Add 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup jaggery  in the pulp.
  •  Boil  the mixture until all sugar and jaggery melts.
  •  Add salt and cardamom powder.
  •  This pulp mixture is preserve d for one year. 
  • For fresh panha add 1:4 water for pulp mixture. 
  • Add chilly paste and blend the mixture.
  •  Strain with the strainer. 
  • Add water, salt and sugar if required.  
  • Add ice cubes and serve chilled!!
