Mango Halwa: ( sheera)
One more tasty sweet dish with perfect flavour of alphonso mango. Alphonso mango is a popular seasonal fruit of konkan region of Maharashtra!
Ingredients:
1 cup semolina,
1 cup milk,
3/4 cup pure ghee,
1 and 1/2 cup fresh sweet ripe alphonso mango pulp,
3/4 cup water,
Pinch of salt,
3/4 cup sugar,
2 tablespoon fresh sweet ripe alphonso mango cubes,
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder,
raisins 20
Procedure:
Wash and peel Alphonso mangoes.
Remove pulp from it.
Heat the pan on medium flame.
Add ghee and semolina in the pan.
Keep stirring until semolina turns golden brown.
Boil milk and water together.
Add a pinch of salt in the roasted semolina.
Clean raisins and soak in a water for few minutes.
Add boiled water and milk in a roasted semolina, slowly on low flame.
Add mango pulp, sugar, raisins and cardamom powder, stir well.
Cook for ten minutes.
Keep lid and stir occasionally.
After ten minutes add mango cubes, mix well and remove from the flame.
Enjoy mango season!!!
